COMPETENCIES #2 Cadets

SPIRITUALITY

1 Give evidence of conversion and the continuing work of the Holy Spirit in the way you live, work and relate to others

2 Practice the various Christian spiritual disciplines especially regular personal devotional time of prayer and Bible Reading and regular participation in corporate prayer and Bible Study.

3 Understand the Bible and its precepts and apply them to your life.

4 Demonstrate knowledge of Christian thought to include church history, and Christian ethics, consistently showing in your life-style high morality in personal living and ethical conduct in business practice

5 Demonstrate a desire, willingness and ability to witness to your faith



2 SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP AND SALVATIONISM

6 Articulate a specific call to Officership in The Salvation Army, not simply a call to ministry and service in the church and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to this principle.

7 Sign your covenant in confirmation of your calling to Officership in The Salvation Army

8 Know and apply to your life the role of The Salvation Army Officer in preaching the gospel, leading the unbeliever to Christ, discipling new converts to become Salvation Army soldiers and meeting human needs in Jesus’ name without discrimination
9 Recite The Salvation Army doctrines and proclaim and teach them with loyalty.
10 Demonstrate knowledge of, and compliance with, Salvation Army orders and regulations
11 Demonstrate and apply as appropriate a clear understanding of The Salvation Army as a whole, including its mission, ceremonies, corps ministries, social ministries, emergency service program and history and traditions.
12 Demonstrate and apply as appropriate a clear understanding of The Salvation Army as a whole, including its mission, ceremonies, corps ministries, social ministries, emergency service program and history and traditions.
13 Be familiar with, and be willing to adhere to, the Officer/Corps Officer Brief of Appointment.
